The Great Northern Alpine depot was located at MP 1723.5, Nippon Lumber Company operated a sawmill there until about 1929.

The Great Northern used a horse pack trail from Wallace to Stevens Pass during construction of the railroad, a section of the trail is visible near Alpine Falls on the Tye River. I walked the trail in February 2010 and made a nine minute video. Watch it here.
